Next year training calendar is up – with further updates in the coming weeks

In 2017 we will be running the following programs:

Social Language Groups

Our social language program is designed for children aged 5 to 7 with oral language delay and social skills deficits. The purpose of the groups is to develop language and social skills within the context of a small group setting (4 children of similar age) which allows for heightened individual focus and attention.

  1. Introduction to Social Language Group – designed for children who have not participated in a social language group before. This group aims to introduce children to concepts such as greetings, active listening, sharing, recognising emotions and how to manage them in addition to communicating socially
  2. Moving Forward Sociallydesigned for children who have participated in the introduction program and aims to further develop a deeper understanding of the concepts introduced in the first group.

The groups will be conducted during the school term on Saturdays with the Introduction course being conducted in the morning and the Moving Forward course in the afternoons. The sessions will be conducted on a fortnightly basis and consist of a one hour child group session and a 15 minute parent debriefing session immediately following the group.

Home practice strategies to reinforce concepts introduced in the sessions will be emailed each week.

Secret Agent Society

This social skills program is currently considered best practice in developing social language and abilities in school-age children (8 to 12 years of age) diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Social Communication Disorder (SCD).

Two new groups will be conducted during 2017. The first group will commence on the 27th April and the second group on the 16th August. SAS will be conducted on Wednesday afternoons commencing at 4:30pm on a fortnightly basis.
